After crossing a peaceful countryside, arrival in an immense and open horizon: the limestone plateaus of Haute Provence, deeply dug by the magnificent Gorges of the Verdon River. On to the Verdon Grand Canyon along Corniche Sublime. Many stops at viewpoints: Illoire Pass, Cirque Vaumale, Bauchet's cliffs, The Horsemen's cliff, Fayet tunnels, the Artuby bridge, La Mescla balconies. A grandiose setting and impressive ravines. Back along the North bank(Stop at Point Sublime) to reach the perched village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, famous for its earthenware (stop). Return to Aix-en-Provence.

Along small roads winding among the fields of flowers, arrival on the wide Plateau of Valensole specialised in the cultivation of "lavandin". Stop in the village of Moustiers-Ste-Marie, so famous for its earthen ware workshops (free time for lunch). In the afternoon, on to the breath taking opening of the Grand Canyon of the River Verdon and Sainte Croix Lake. Scenic touring of Sainte Croix Lake. Panorama on the picturesque village of Bauduen and a last stop in Ste Croix overlooking the lake before going back to Aix.

Visit of the imposing Good King René's castle in Tarascon. The powerful fortress, standing by the Rhone River, defended, in the past, the County of Provence. Hear about the legend of St Martha and the terrible monster "Tarasque".Continuation to Avignon, the city of the popes in the XIVth century. Stop and free time for lunch. The day will go on with the visit of the village Chateauneuf-du-Pape and its famous vineyards. Many wine cellars in the village to taste the local wine.
*A feast celebrating wine, the vine, the maturity of the grapes, to which take part all the local vine growers. The best opportunity to taste the local wine, the many specialities and see the reconstitution of a medieval village with its market while listening to medieval music.
