PLACE DES AUGUSTINS
PLACE D'ALBERTAS
The Place d'Albertas, opened in 1745 surrounds a delightful fountain, the 18th Century frontages gives a rare harmony to this square.
PLACE RICHELME ET HALLE AUX GRAINS
Richelme Square, where a provençal market takes place each morning. North of the Square is the Old "Halle aux Grains" (Corn-Exchange),1759-1761. The design of its frontage, along with the fountain in the middle of the square, is by Chastel and represents the Rhône and the Durance.
HOTEL DE VILLE
Différent elements from each area blend together perfectly around the Town Hall Square which is bordered with plane trees. The Town Hall (1655-1670), which is particularly noticeable because of its Italian style frontage and wooden sculptured doors, opens into an interior courtyard from where one can reach the "Etats de Provence" by means of a double flight of stairs aborned with the statue of Maréchal de Villars.
TOUR DE L'HORLOGE
La Tour fut élevée en 1510. L'horloge astronomique comprend quatre statues de bois peint, défilant au rythme des quatre saisons.
